The daughter of Dame Esther Rantzen has pleaded with England to follow in Scotland’s footsteps as the country could become the first in the UK to offer terminally ill adults help to end their lives.

Scottish Lib Dem MP Liam McArthur introduced the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill on Thursday (March 28).

talking Good morning Britain, Rebecca Wilcox urged “some lobbyists who are not expressing their true feelings about euthanasia” to speak out.

She said: “I want people to say whether it’s a matter of faith.

“Faith is a beautiful and wonderful thing and I really admire it, but I don’t think it should impact the decision of how much pain my mom will suffer at the end of her life.”
