Even during mandatory military training in South Korea, BTS continues to make waves. In addition to the loyal fan base known as “ARMY,” even famous K-pop groups have found inspiration in BTS’s music and fame. One of them is ENHYPEN, who recently reworked one of their biggest hits of 2015, “I Need U,” for Spotify Singles. The move allows artists to record new versions of their own songs, covers by other artists or original tracks.

The septet brings a unique touch to the iconic track, transforming the energetic song into an acoustic song arranged by HYBE founder and producer Bang Si Hyuk. In addition to the song, the band also plans to treat fans to a dance performance of their re-created version of “I Need U.”

Speaking about why they chose this particular song, band leader Jungwon told NME, “We decided to remake ‘I Need U’ for three reasons. It makes sense because it’s the most beautiful moment in BTS’ life album series It also started because some of us performed this particular piece during I-LAND. We listened to it all the time.”

ENHYPEN’s “I Need U” holds special significance as it marks the first time their producer, BTS executive producer and HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk has reworked a song from the iconic group. Jack is honored to be a part of this project as it is so connected to an artist they have admired since childhood. While maintaining the original vibe, the latest rendition introduces a different acoustic vibe influenced by African rhythms. Compared to BTS’s original beat, the arrangement of “I Need U” is softer.

Sunghoon shared, “I think this will be a chance for our fans to see a new side of us, and since it’s a song that everyone knows and a lot of people love, I really want people to pay attention to our spin. Put it on.” It. With this particular cover, we’re going to be able to show how much growth we’ve made.” Jack added: “I feel like it’s something that we really don’t perform very often, so I feel like it’s going to be something new that our fans can enjoy. . The song itself is very nice and the melody is very nice. It’s very relaxing to listen to.”

Previously, ENHYPEN also covered several other BTS songs, including Boy With Luv, I Like It, Permission To Dance, Black Swan, Dynamite, Dope and Fire. In addition to Jungwon, Sunghoon and Jake, the group also includes Heeseung, Jay, Sunoo and Ni-ki.
