Members of the England Test squad will be split between Chandigarh and Bengaluru during the one-week break before the fifth and final Test against India starting on March 7 in Dharamsala. After losing by five wickets in the fourth Test in Ranchi on Monday, the team has taken a decisive lead of 1-3 in the series. During the long break between the second and third Test, the entire England team spent their free time in Abu Dhabi.

The Ben Stokes-led side also trained in Abu Dhabi before reaching India for the series starting on January 25.

However, the players have chosen Chandigarh and Bengaluru for the week preceding the Dharamsala Test.

“The team will be divided between Chandigarh and Bengaluru ahead of the fifth Test. They are unlikely to be in the nets during the break. The team will reach Dharamshala around three days before the Test (March 4),” an ECB source told PTI. “

The defeat against India is the visiting team’s first series defeat in the ‘buzzball’ era.
