Sikar, October 28 (IANS) In a major decision, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the terms and conditions of the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC), paving the way for a significant increase in the salaries and allowances of central government employees.

This announcement has created an atmosphere of happiness and relief among both serving and retired employees of the Central Government.

Employees believe that the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission recommendations will lead to a substantial increase in pay and allowances, thereby providing much-needed financial relief.

Recently, the Central Government also announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA), which was widely welcomed. The new move is expected to benefit about 50 lakh central government employees and about 69 lakh pensioners across the country.

Retired bank employee and labor leader Babulal Sharma expressed optimism about the development. “We are hopeful that the Pay Commission will submit its report on pay hike and revision before the given 18 months. There is also a possibility of a 2.5 times pay hike for 50 lakh central government employees. This will also benefit pensioners,” he said.

Similarly, Central Postal Department employee of Sikar, Dilip Kumar Meena said that if the revised pay scale is approved, the employees struggling with inflation will get great relief.

“At least two and a half times salary increase should be given to the employees so that their standard of living can improve,” he said. He said that the employees have to pay heavy house rent and the salary increase will help them in this work.

The approval of the 8th Pay Commission is an important step by the government to address the long pending demands of employees and pensioners, signaling a positive beginning for millions of central government employees across the country.
