Elon Musk says he won't donate to any US presidential candidate

Musk, like many other businessmen, has contributed to both Republicans and Democrats in the past.

California:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that he does not plan to donate to any U.S. presidential candidates.

In a post on X, Musk wrote: “To be very clear, I will not be donating to any candidate for President of the United States.”

Notably, Musk’s post came two days after he reportedly met with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida.

The billionaire and a number of wealthy Republican donors met with Donald Trump on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss private matters, according to three people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity, The New York Times reported .

Trump’s aides, meanwhile, have yet to respond to Musk’s social media comments.

In the past, Musk, like many other business giants, has contributed to both Republicans and Democrats.

He has not poured as much money into presidential campaigns as other American billionaires, and over the years he has split his donations roughly evenly between Republicans and Democrats, according to the New York Times.

In the latest development in the US presidential race, Republican candidate Nikki Haley officially announced the end of her presidential campaign on Wednesday.

“It’s time to pause my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. And I’ve done that. I have no regrets,” she said Wednesday in South Carolina.

“While I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop speaking out for the things I believe in,” she said during a speech in Charleston, South Carolina. Nikki Haley congratulated former President Donald Trump but stopped short of endorsing him as she announced she was ending her presidential campaign.

“When our convention comes in July, Donald Trump is the likely candidate to be the Republican nominee. I congratulate him and wish him the best. I wish anyone who will become President of the United States the best. Our country is too Too precious to let our differences divide us,” Haley said.

Haley added, “It’s going to take Donald Trump now to win the votes of those in our party and outside our party who don’t support him. I hope he can do that.”

Haley has reportedly emerged as former President Donald Trump’s only rival in the Republican presidential primary, and while he won 14 of 15 Republican races on Super Tuesday, she won in Vermont, blocking A possible sweep.

In the Super Tuesday Republican primaries, Haley won just 43 Republican delegates to Trump’s 764.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden and former President Donald J. Trump emerged victorious on Super Tuesday, winning huge delegates in California, Texas and elsewhere, moving closer to their respective parties’ nominations and A rematch is scheduled for November’s White House election.
