Eddie Howe Celebrating a “huge victory” Newcastle Get rid of the away blues and usher in the second away game Premier League This season, they defeated the relegation team Burnley 3-1 away from home.

Joelinton scored just 65 seconds into the game and Yoane Wissa, making his first league start, scored his first league goal with seven minutes remaining to make it 2-0.

It was supposed to be a game against a goal-limited Burnley, but Josh Laurent pulled one back in the 23rd minute and Burnley took the lead in the second half until Bruno Guimarães Taking advantage of the defensive confusion, he scored the third goal in stoppage time.

While it wasn’t entirely convincing, Howe wasn’t too worried after watching his first away win since defeating his rivals. everton On November 29, they advanced to the top half with a score of 4-1.

“This is a huge win for us,” he said. “I think it’s not that important how we do it, we just have to do it.

“We had a very strong sense from the start of how important this game was for us and I couldn’t praise the players enough for how they fought. The second half was never easy. It was a long 45 minutes and finally getting across the finish line was all down to the players who saw their game through.”

Visa has had a start marred by injuries since his £50m move from Brentford, but has impressed here. After his early goal, he should have added another from close range – providing a different threat than Nick Waltermade.

“That was the idea behind signing these two players, they are very different,” Howe said. “Jon is more of a traditional number nine. He wants to run in behind, he has great goal awareness, he is in the right place at the right time and his goals highlight that.”

It was another hugely disappointing night for Burnley, who fought hard but received little in return. They are currently on a 10-match winless streak and are still 6 points away from safety.

When asked if he felt a sense of déjà vu after coming away from a fight show with nothing to show for it, Scott Parker agreed.

“That’s probably how I feel,” he said. “There were some frustrating elements. We conceded two goals after seven minutes and that set ourselves a big mountain to climb.”

“That being said, when we were down 2-0, from that point until they scored their third goal… we were absolutely committed as a team and again it was a slim margin and we couldn’t just rely on the chances we created to score goals and we were going to end up with a bad result.”

“We’re in a dogfight and we’re going to be in a dogfight most of the season.

“You can see a team languishing from a lack of energy, a lack of commitment or a lack of desire, but there’s some eliteness in this group. Down 2-0 after seven minutes you can see a team languishing and it could have been a completely different story but you don’t see that.”
