Durg/Bhilai, 18 September (IANS) raided Hudco Bhilai on Thursday in a recent crack in an ongoing investigation in the alleged custom milling scam.
The source said that a four -member ED team reached the campus around 6 am, started a detailed discovery and inquiry session that continued through the day, the source said.
Sources indicate that RAID is part of a comprehensive operation targeting financial irregularities in custom milling contracts – an issue that has raised serious concerns over purchase and payment practices in the state’s food and civil supply fields.
The ED team is allegedly investigating documents related to land allocation, financial transactions and contract records at Hadco Bhilai, which can keep important evidence in the front scam.
This raid is one of the many coordinated works being done in Chhattisgarh.
According to sources, raids are going on simultaneously in ten separate districts, indicating a significant increase in the investigation.
The ED has been fed up about specific places and individuals under the investigation, but sources suggest that many government offices and private institutions involved in custom milling contracts are subject to scanners.
Custom Milling Scam, which reportedly involves alleged procurement of rice and milling records, has attracted attention to its scale and potential political influences.
Investigators believe that the bilas, ghost mills and forged documents may cause huge damage to the state treasury.
Local sources in Bhilai reported increased security around the Hudco campus, in which ED officials banned access and maintained strict privacy about the nature of the documents.
Major personnel are being questioned, and more summons is expected in the coming days.
It marks the second major ad raids in the Durg-Bhalai region within a month, outlining the agency’s rapid attention on financial offenses in Chhattisgarh.
The state government has so far released an official statement, but a source said that the upcoming administrative reviews and procurement systems may have implications for public trusts at the time and scale at the time and scale.
