Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 18 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he is looking forward to attending the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Wednesday.
“I look forward to being among my sisters and brothers of Andhra Pradesh to participate in the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi tomorrow,” the Prime Minister said in a post on Twitter.
The PM said, “His life and efforts towards community service and spiritual awakening of the society remain guiding lights for generations. I have had many opportunities to interact with him and learn from him. Here are some highlights of our conversations…” The PM posted photographs of himself taken with Lord Sai Baba on various occasions in the past.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Along with Chandrababu Naidu, the Prime Minister will pay obeisance and pay homage at the holy shrine and Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba here around 10 am.
Prime Minister Modi will also release a commemorative coin and a set of stamps honoring the life, teachings and enduring legacy of Sathya Sai Baba.
He will also address a public meeting during the program.
The Prime Minister will later travel to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where he will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at around 1:30 pm.
He will release the 21st installment of PM-KISAN amounting to over Rs 18,000 crore to support nine crore farmers across the country.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also address the public.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is reaching Puttaparthi on Tuesday night, will welcome Prime Minister Modi at Puttaparthi Airport at 9.25 am on Wednesday.
As per the program announced by the state government, both the leaders will visit Prasanthi Nilayam and offer prayers at Sathya Sai Baba Mahasamadhi.
Later both the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister will reach Hill View Stadium and participate in the birth centenary celebrations of Satya Sai Baba.
After bidding farewell to Prime Minister Modi at Puttaparthi airport, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will reach Pendlimarri in Kamalapuram constituency of Cuddapah district to participate in the Annadata Sukhibhava second phase fund distribution programme.
Under Annadata Sukhibhav and PM Kisan Yojana, each farmer will get Rs 7,000.
A total of 46,85,838 farmers across the state will benefit with the distribution of Rs 3,135 crore under this scheme.
Under the first and second installments, farmers will get a total of Rs 6,309.44 crore.
Later, the Chief Minister will hold talks with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre and reach Amaravati by Wednesday night.
