The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi has announced that Turkish authorities will now require Indian and Nepalese passport holders to provide an ‘Electronic Airport Transit Visa’ (e-ATV) when transiting to Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Venezuela through Istanbul Airport.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey has announced that Turkish authorities have started requiring Electronic Airport Transit Visa (e-ATV) from Indian and Nepalese passport holders transiting to Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Venezuela through Istanbul Airport,” it noted.
In addition, the statement also pointed out that Indian and Nepalese passport holders who meet the e-ATV requirements can obtain e-ATV for free through the “evisa.gov.tr” website starting from April 15. practice.
Indian and Nepali passport holders traveling to the above mentioned countries should carry the printed e-ATV while traveling as it will be checked by the relevant airlines and service providers.
“The above mentioned Indian and Nepalese passengers should carry the printout of the electric all-terrain vehicle with them during their travel as the printout should be checked by the concerned airline/service provider at the departure airport and by the Turkish authorities as per international aviation rules.
