Dye CM review progress on development works in J&K resident Commission

Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chaudhary, today presided over a comprehensive review meeting about the work of Public Works Department (PWD) in the Commission of Jammu and Kashmir, New Delhi.

The meeting was attended by Additional Resident Commissioner, Chief Pay and Accounts Officer, Executive Engineer (PWD), Manager 5-PRR, Manager CPGH and other concerned officials.

The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the development works going on under the jurisdiction of the Resident Commission by PWD.

The concerned officials informed the CM on the progress obtained in the context of physical execution and financial performance.

The dye CM was made aware that the upgradation of JK House, Chanakyapuri, in which the construction of new reception area, lounge and upgradation of goods presented in rooms have been completed. In addition, the top floor of C block will be upgraded with an estimated cost of Rs. 127 lakhs and soon converted into VIP rooms for senior official use, they were informed.

He was further informed that the renewal of Jammu -Kashmir Guest House in Amritsar was completed in the last financial year through the construction of the new border wall, gate, signage board, ramp, the outdoor/internal painting of the guest house. In addition, work on renewal of guest houses will be taken in the current financial year through upgrading 4 suites including kitchen, staff quarters and campus /lawn.

He was also informed that the work for upgradation of HCM residence and LG Niwas on 5-PR roads through painting, polishing, furniture, upholstery, refund, parking space for vehicles and other affiliated works. Similarly, construction of the boundary wall on the land acquired for JK Bhawan in Dwarka and Mumbai has also been completed.

The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the department and appreciated the team for their dedicated work and effective implementation of infrastructure projects.

Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, he directed the authorities to expedite the ongoing works, ensuring that all the set targets are found within the set deadline.

The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the concerned officials to strictly follow the criteria and specifications in all construction and maintenance activities. He emphasized the need for regular and careful inspection to ensure the highest standards of quality in public functions.

Additionally, the dye CM directed that all the guest houses of the Commission resident of Jammu and Kashmir should increase hospitality services and continuously offer guests to a refined and welcoming experience, which keeping in mind the rich tradition of heat and hospitality of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Deputy Chief Minister focused on the officers and employees of the resident Commission to act as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir, which offers a positive image of the center area. He urged them to spread the message that J&K is a safe, welcome and lively destination. He encouraged everyone to invite tourists from all over the country and around the world and experienced the beauty and hospitality of Jammu and Kashmir.
