Dye CM performed J&KVIB, JKPCC

Srinagar, May 6: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Chaudhary, chaired a meeting today to review the performance of Jammu and Khadi Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&KVIB) and Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) at Civil Secretary Srinagar today.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Industry and Commerce Vikramjit Singh, CEO J&K KVb Jagdish Chander, senior officials of board and district officials.

In the KVIB review meeting, the concerned officer performed a powerpoint to complete the working meeting in addition to the physical and financial achievements of the board.

It was informed that three main schemes including PMEGP, JKREGP and SFURTI are being implemented by KVIB. It was further stated that the main objective of all schemes is to generate employment opportunities, promote a strong rural economy, increase the socio-economic status of rural artisans and promote environmentally friendly and sustainable development in Khadi or micro industrial sector.

Highlighting the achievements of the boards, the official stated that 19444 men and 13689 women have been provided benefits under PMEGP, while in the last six years, 4010 men and 937 women were provided benefits under JKREGP to promote entrepreneurship in J&K. In addition, 8 cluster projects have been approved under the SFURTI scheme.

It was also reported that under JKREGP, 1637 cases have been sponsored, out of which 1148 have been approved. It was further stated that 115B keyping training camp has been organized by KVB in Kashmir Division.

Addressing the officials during the meeting, Surinder Chaudhary, who is also the chairman of KVIB, emphasized the need for active connection of all stakeholders to increase employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated the importance of making these employment generation programs inclusive, ensuring equal opportunities for all areas of society, especially marginalized communities, women and disabled persons.

The Dye CM insisted to simplify the process of establishing units generating income for all for all such programs for all such programs. He said that applicants should be provided training for better management of units to maximize their profit.

Appreciating the efforts of the board in employment generation across Jammu and Kashmir, he urged the authorities to adopt a strong monitoring and evaluation structure to guarantee the target-oriented implementation of the schemes. He emphasized the importance of aligning all activities with overraching goals and objectives.

Surinder Chaudhary highlighted the need for synchronized efforts by implementation agencies and banks to ensure that employment generation programs such as PMGP and JkregP.

Dye CM asked the board to ensure convergence with other departments and install further and backward linkage with skill training to provide end-to-end assistance and necessary handholding to job seekers and young entrepreneurs.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister called a meeting with senior officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to review its functioning and issues being faced by the corporation.

MD JK PCC, Bashir Ahmed Dar, informed the CM of several cases, in which the compensation of vacant posts, deployment of manpower, finalizing the accounts of the corporation and finalizing its court cases, liability on executed work on the basis of nomination, harmony of materials on work, harmony of materials, deployment of JKPCCCCCCCC, etc.

Dye CM assured that the issues made by JKPCC would be resolved in a phased manner.
