Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chaudhary, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing development and construction works at Skims Medical College and Hospital Bemina, Srinagar.
The works included construction of 250 bedded IPD blocks and college laboratory blocks, which was raised at an estimated cost of Rs 83.94 crore and Rs 88.23 crore respectively.
The purpose of this journey was to assess the speed and quality of construction activities to upgrade the infrastructure of the hospital.
It was reported that the IPD block would have 7 stories with features like orthopedic, medicine, psychiatry, labor, maternity, administrative block, medial record section, board room and lecture theater with ward in general surgery.
While inspecting the construction work on the IPD block, the dye CM noted the agency executed to speed up the speed of work and ensured that all pending work was completed without further delay.
Dye CM directed the concerned authorities to complete all pending works within three months.
Exposing the importance of development of infrastructure in the health sector, the dye CM asked the officials to ensure strict adherence to determine the time limit, in addition to addressing any hurdle that obstructs such important projects. He asked to ensure strict adherence to all quality parameters while maintaining timeliness for the completion of the project.
The Deputy Chief Minister also called for regular monitoring and evaluation of ongoing works to ensure transparency and accountability. He emphasized the need for proper coordination between executed agencies and called for close monitoring to avoid unnecessary delays.
