DUSU election results 2025 will be declared today

New Delhi, September 19 (IANS) Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) The much-awaited results of 2025 will be declared on Friday, marking the culmination of a high-day student political competition, with more than 1.55 lakh voters voting.

Prior to the announcement, the Delhi High Court has imposed strict ban on any winning rallies by the winning candidates. The court has directed the Delhi Police, university officials and local administration to ensure strict measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

This year’s DUSU election was held on Thursday, which had more than 2.75 lakh eligible voters in more than 50 colleges affiliated to Delhi University. Using 711 electronic voting machines (EVMs), 52 centers and 195 booths were voted. The overall voter polling was recorded at 39.45 percent.

A total of 21 candidates are contesting for four major posts in the student union, president, vice -president, secretary and joint secretary. In particular, nine candidates are dying for the presidency alone, while 12 other are in the race for the remaining positions.

Voting was held in two phases. The phase of the morning started at 8:30 am and ended at 1 pm, while the evening session was held in eight colleges from 3 pm to 7:30 pm. Although a slow start was seen in the morning, voting increased the pace later during the day.

However, elections were from allegations of violence and misconduct. President’s Wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student wing of the President’s Swayam Sevak Union (RSS), accused the assignment Dusu President and the National Students Union (NSUI) of the National Students Union of joining a scuffle to join a scuffle in the northern campus.

State Secretary of ABVP Delhi Sarathak Sharma alleged that Khatri’s supporters surrounded a female student outside Kirori Mal College, causing injury to her.

Despite stress, both ABVP and NSUI have claimed that they are leading to victory. The ABVP said that all these four union posts are on track to sweep the four union posts, rejecting the NSUI allegations as a sign of baseless and political nervousness.

Security has been increased in university complexes to ensure law and order during and after the result declaration.
