“Obviously it’s painful. Playing for Pakistan for so long, performing. That’s what our fans are doing. You feel like, ‘I’m playing for this country, playing for this country.’ Jeetayein hain, aur hamaare log aisa treat kar rahe hain’ so woh thoda Feel hota hai. (It’s obviously sad. Playing and performing for Pakistan for so long. And then to see the crowd doing this to a player like that. As a player, you feel,’ I’ve played for this country, I’ve won games for this country and that’s how the people of our country treat us,’ so it does feel a little bit),” Shadab said.

Notably, Imad had previously criticized Babar during the 2023 Cricket World Cup when the Pakistan team performed poorly. Fans jeered him on Saturday by chanting “Babar Babar” over his remarks.
Talking about the match, Islamabad United reached the final with a five-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi and Imad played a crucial role in the victory.
Islamabad United captain Shadab won the toss and invited the opposing team to bat first. Led by Saim Ayub’s 73 and Mohammad Haris’ 40, Peshawar Zalmi posted 185 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs. Imad could not pick up any wickets but played an economic spell of 0/23 in four overs.
In reply, Islamabad returned home in 19 overs thanks to Imad’s 59 not out off 40 balls and Haider Ali’s 52 not out off 29 balls.
Islamabad United will face Multan Sultans in the PSL 2024 final on March 18 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
