Jaipur, October 27 (IANS) The Meteorological Department has said that the depression over the south-eastern Bay of Bengal has now turned into a deep depression, which is expected to develop further under the influence of Cyclone Montha.

As a result, many Indian states including Rajasthan are witnessing a fresh round of heavy rainfall.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the impact of Cyclone Montha will be maximum between 27 and 29 October.

Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in various districts of Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions.

IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall for some areas especially in Kota and Udaipur divisions.

The weather is likely to gradually become normal from October 30. Weather conditions remained unstable in Hadoti region including Kota, Baran, Bundi and Jhalawar on Sunday. Kota city remained under dense clouds throughout the day and there was no sunlight. There was cold wind and light fog in the evening, due to which the temperature dropped slightly. The maximum temperature in Kota was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature rose to 21.1 degrees. The wind speed was about 5 km/h.

Sangod area of Kota district received about 16 mm of rain on Sunday evening. Heavy rain for 15 minutes resulted in waterlogging on roads and streets. The rain provided relief to farmers preparing for sowing of Rabi crop, although it caused damage to some paddy crops ready for harvesting.
