A year before she was diagnosed with cancer, Kate jetted off on a secret getaway with sister Pippa Middleton.
Daniella Lawler revealed in a recent column times of london The sisters went on an impromptu ski trip in Meribel, accompanied by their respective husbands and young children.
“They managed to keep their vacation a secret and spent a few days enjoying themselves with their husbands and young children: enjoying a cozy après-ski lunch together in a snowy forest.”
A source close to Pippa added: “The three siblings are very close… Pippa is not only a sister but a best friend that she can count on.”
“They were very loyal to each other.”
The Princess of Wales’ brother James was quick to show public support after revealing her cancer diagnosis to the public on Friday.
“We have climbed many mountains together over the years. As a family we will climb this mountain with you too,” he captioned a photo of the young siblings climbing the Alps.
As well as Pippa and James, Kate has relied on her mother Carole and her childhood friends to navigate her journey through the disease.
A source close to the royal family revealed: “Catherine will want her family and friends to keep everything as normal and positive as possible during her treatment.”
“Her children were her primary concern… She was a very relatable mother figure, a natural. She was a mother first and a public figure second,” they added.
