Drone, UAVs were banned amidst Leh amidst Indo-Pak tension

Leh District Magistrate, Santosh Sukhdeve ordered prohibition on drone and UAV flight by local people, tourists or private individuals and said that any violation of the order would attract strict legal action under relevant laws.

“This order is issued pre-part in the interest of public safety and security and will remain in force until the next notice,” he said.

The order was issued a day later when the Indian armed forces launched missile attacks against the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir.

In view of the possibility of public safety, security establishments and the possibility of threats to the general public, the order said that the Superintendent of Police, Leh has requested the general public and tourists to issue an order to ban drones and UAV flights.

Using its powers under Section 163 of the Indian city security Sanhita, the Deputy Commissioner said that the flight, operation, or use of any type of drone or UAV by the local people, tourists, or any private person is strictly banned in the entire jurisdiction of Leh district.

The order states that any person who fly any drone or UAV in violation of this order will immediately report the police control room (PCR) or the nearest police or civilian officers. ,

Meanwhile, the All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association has announced a genuine migration for tourists trapped due to the ongoing disintegration of flights from Leh Airport.

The association has taken an integrated step to support the stranded tourists and decided that the guests who have been canceled outbound flights due to the prevailing position will be provided with a migration in the same hotels where they are living in Ladakh, its president, Rigzin Wangmo Lachi said.

He said that the decision was taken in a meeting of the association on Wednesday and comes at a time when the hospitality industry needs to expand the guests during the unpredictable challenges.
