Annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, Secretary, as part of the ongoing preparation for health and medical education, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, today visited the Pahalgam axis of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.
The Secretary reviewed the preparations for healthcare facilities at Nanwan Base Camp, Sub District Hospital Pahgam and 100 Bedd Base Hospital at Chandanwari.
Dr. With Abid Rashid, Director Health Service Kashmir Dr. Jahangir Bakshi, Director Family Welfare Dr. Mushtaq, rather, was accompanied by traveling officers from the department, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag, Medical Director Travel (Pahgam Axis) and other nodal officers of the Health Department.
The visit included a comprehensive inspection of the facilities being laid for medical infrastructure and annual pilgrimage.
During inspection, Dr. Abid Rashid reviewed the major components of healthcare preparations, including the availability of essential drugs, deployment of medical and paramedical staff, readiness of medical emergency response systems and totality of healthcare infrastructure for traveling duties.
The secretary was informed that medical stations consider the holy cave, functional with the deployment of advance medical teams. In addition, the deployment of employees including doctors, paramedics and other employees will be done in three stages for effective service distribution during Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Emphasizing the need for uninterrupted health services, Dr. Abid Rashid directed the authorities to ensure 24/7 medical facilities, especially at high-height camps and other important points along the travel route.
He also emphasized the importance of a strong referral system for timely transfer of important cases in high-level healthcare institutions. He instructed medical teams to maintain adequate stocks of drugs and other equipment.
