“Don’t think of it as India-Pakistan, think of it as an India-athetic”: Jishankar in Brussels

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that this is not a conflict between India and Pakistan, but a response to the threat of terrorism in Brussels. He reiterated India’s policy of zero tolerance for terrorism and not a yield of atomic blackmail.

When asked about the Indo-Pakistani struggle during a joint press conference with a high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, Kaj Kallas on Tuesday replied, Jaishankar, “I would like to understand that it is not a conflict between the two states. It really requests danger and terrorism practice. Praise it.”

He said that terrorism is a “shared and mutual challenge” for the international community. He emphasized that it is important to have strong international cooperation on the matter.

“We strongly believe that all its forms and manifestations should have zero tolerance for terrorism. In that context, it is also necessary that we never yield for nuclear blackmail. It is a shared and interconnected challenge for the global community, and it is important that there is strong international cooperation and understanding on the matter.”

During the joint press conference, Jaishankar also discussed his meeting with Kaja Kallas. He said that he and Kalas exchanged ideas on the global order, including status in Europe, Ukraine conflict, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Indo-Pacific.

“High representative and I exchange ideas on global order. We will discuss the situation in Europe in the coming session. We will have, I think, a deep exchange over the Ukraine struggle, we will talk about West Asia, because we call it for you the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Indo-Pacific.”

Jaishankar concluded the first India-European Union Strategic Dialogue with Kaza Kallas in Brussels and discussed intensive cooperation in defense, maritime security, anti-terrorism, cyber and AI, space and our defense industry cooperation.

“Today in Brussels, 1 India-European Union concluded strategic dialogue with the European Union HRVP @Kajakallas. Today, the productive discussion on deepening our cooperation in defense, maritime security, counter-security, cyber and AI, space and our defense industry cooperation. The European Union shared many conjunctions in a rapid multi-polar world,” Jayashankar posted on X.

India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May on 7 April as a decisive military response to the Pahgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

After the attack, Pakistan attempted drone attacks with border across the border across the line of control, after which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centers and airbases in Pakistan.
