The Doda district administration in Jammu and Kashmir has distributed 1 lakh national flags under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign before Independence Day.
On Tuesday, the district administration organized a tricolor journey in the entire district.
“Beyond the Independence Day celebrations, tomorrow, the tricolor journey was held throughout the district, during which the 1508 meter long flag was closed by the children. In the next 2-3 days, we will conclude our ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program,” Doda Deputy Commissioner Hartindar Singh told ANI.
He said, “We have also distributed 1 lakh tricolor to our officers. I would like to request that everyone should join the ‘every house tricolor’ and hoist the flag at their home,” he said.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with his wife Sonal Shah, hoisted the tricolor at his residence at Krishna Menon Marg in Delhi, participating in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’, which is being done across the country before Independence Day.
The scene of his residence hoisted him several feet long tricolor with his wife on his roof, while the residence was also wrapped with the colors of the Indian flag.
The Ministry of Culture, the Government of India, on August 11, announced the 4th edition of every house tricolor campaign, which was launched under the aegis of the Amrit Mahotsav of independence, so that citizens across the country could be motivated to bring the Indian national flag, tricolor into their homes and hearts.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Culture, the campaign conducted across the country has become a movement of people with more than 5 lakh youth who registered in the fourth year of the campaign.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “This year, we are going to celebrate the fourth edition of the tricolor campaign, for which more than 5 lakh youth have registered as volunteers. These youth will inspire people for the tricolor campaign.”
Addressing a press conference, Shekhawat said that every house tricolor is more than a campaign – it is a emotional movement that units 1.4 billion Indians under the timeless colors of our national flag. Its purpose is to promote patriotism, promote civil pride and spread awareness about the importance of tricolor as a living symbol of our democracy and freedom. (AI)
