Speaking from a picket line on Tuesday, RDC co-chairman Dr. Melissa Ryan said: “There is no need to be one day of strike action.
“Wes Streeting knows what he has to do. If he wants to resolve the dispute, he will have to contact us and submit a reliable proposal.”
The resulting details on the number of appointments, processes and operations are expected to be published later this week, officials said they expect a lower impact than the previous walkout.
The Doctor Union has launched a “linked dispute” with the government over the lack of places for doctors in training.
The BMA said that this year there were more than 30,000 resident doctors who were applying for only 10,000 special training locations.
A survey of 4,400 doctors held in the previous week found that 52% of residents doctors complete their second year of training – when they enter special training – there is not enough employment since August.
In a statement, RDC co-heads said: “Across the NHS, it means that thousands of UK doctors are released into employment limbos when patients need a strict need to take care of them.”
Mr. Streeting said that he is ready to discuss “real improvements in the working life of resident doctors”, but cannot go further on salary.
Mr. Streeting said, “We decided to cancel the lowly planned care as possible this year, and thanks to their tireless work, it is clear that more patients need their care compared to previous years,” Mr. Streeting said.
He said, “All comes with the level of disruption in industrial action, and I feel angry and disappointed from the patients who do not get the service they did not expect due to these attacks.
“That’s why my door is open to BMA leadership so that we can start the previous week’s conversation, before they went out.
“After 28.9% increment in the last three years, we can’t just go ahead on payment this year, but there are real reforms for resident doctors we are working. We can work by hand-from training positions to career progress and beyond.
“After more than a decade of going down, resident doctors are better than their current working conditions, receive support from the public, and the BMA appears to be one from the leadership – especially the most of them did not vote for this strike action.
“I am ready to continue my discussions. Our shared ambitions will receive prizes for both patients and employees, but they can only be obtained when we work together.”
Rori Dieton said to the NHS Confederation representing NHS organizations: “We will urge the BMA to recognize that the government is not in a position to provide additional increments in view of the pressure on the departmental budget.
“Further attacks will create more disruption yet, delay more treatment and increase the risk for the patient’s safety. We hope that BMA will think about the impact strike on patients and fellow employees before calling on more walkouts.”
NHS officials have stated that the canceled booking will be re-determined within two weeks, but will be warned of knock-on effects for other patients.

The Royal College of Nursing, which represents hundreds of thousands of nurses at NHS in England, is consulting its members at the 3.6% salary award presented for 2025/26 in England.
It is expected that at the end of this week the counselor will reject the salary proposal to the nurses when the vote is over.
Meanwhile, health workers of GMB and Unite Unions have also rejected the proposal, which has increased the risk of further industrial action in NHS.
