Do not make the mistake of our silence for weakness: Dye CM Surinder Chaudhary

Jammu and Kashmir Vice President Surinder Chaudhary said on Friday that the current administration is reviewing several sensitive files from previous governments and warned that his silence should not be seen as a sign of weakness.

“We have been going through files for the last 8-9 months. If anything has gone wrong, we will bring it to people. Our silence is not our weakness, it is an attempt to maintain a relationship with Delhi. But if needed, we will speak with facts.”

He confirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, especially in electoral matters. He said, “We always believe in transparency. If there is a mistake in the voter lists, they will be addressed. The elections are won by the people, not from the lists,” he said.

Chaudhary also called the media to play a positive role in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “You show both our flaws and our good things. We have a sweet relationship with us, and we will keep you feeding sweets but you also have to respect our faith,” he said.

In a sharp political attack, Chaudhary questioned BJP’s 11 -year rule in J&K. “Was insurgency stopped? Is corruption ended? If yes, why did Pulwama and other incidents happen even after articles 370 and 35A?”

According to KNS, the dye CM said that Article 370 was given during the time of Maharaja Hari Singh and not by political leaders. Chaudhary said, “Outsiders were restored to protect our land and jobs. Even Maharaja Karan Singh said.”

He said, “If someone asks us for our life with love, we will give it. But if we start speaking then do not challenge our silence, we will tell everything, by page. (KNS)
