The budget shop issued a “do not eat” warning for bags of The Tasty Snack Co.’s Roasted and Salted Cashews, saying the product may be unsafe To eat.
customers are being asked not to consume product but return the nuts to a Poundland store for a full refund instead. A receipt is not required to get a refund on this product.
Only batches of nuts sold in 100 gram bags with code 56T25255 and a best before date of July 19, 2026 are affected by the recall.
A safety warning issued by Poundland reads: “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. However the safety and trust of our customers and the quality of our products is at the heart of everything we do.”
Glass fragments can cause damage to the esophagus, irritation, and bleeding if swallowed.
Food Standards Agency (FSA) which issued the recall and said that point of sale notices would be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the nuts. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have purchased it.
If a food product has a problem that means it should not be sold, the FSA can issue a recall to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with the food.
