DK Shivkumar says that pits were not built, not developed due to natural reasons

Bengaluru: Responding to criticism about the threat of the pit in Bengaluru, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, who is also the Minister of Bangalore Development, said on Saturday that the pits are not made, but developed due to natural causes and heavy rains.

Talking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivkumar said, “We are here to solve the problem. BJP is doing politics; let them do whatever they want. This evening, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is also holding a meeting. Pits are caused by nature; no one wants to make them.”

He said that there was an increase in vehicles in Bengaluru, heavy traffic and excessive rainfall, causing more pits.

“We have already filled more than 7,000 pits, and there are still more than 5,000 left on the streets of Bengaluru. We have asked the Commissioner of Police to submit a report on the condition of the pits,” Shivkumar said.

“Even common citizens are reporting them. We cannot stop the BJP from doing politics.

Shivkumar further questioned, “After giving them money, why did the BJP MLAs not not fill the pits? Still, we are releasing Rs 25 crore for BJP MLAs. Let them do their work.”

Earlier, Shivkumar said on Thursday, except for the infrastructure of his bad road to Bangalore, facing criticism from IT companies, “No one can threaten or blackmail the government. I will not stop anyone from leaving.”

Slipping the Deputy Chief Minister for its comment, the Karnataka BJP said that demanding accountability is not a danger or blackmail amount.

The BJP has announced that the party will stage an hour -long road in all assembly constituencies across Karnataka including Bengaluru on September 24 to protest against the infrastructure of the state’s “poor” road.
