Ujjain, Oct 10 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said disabled citizens should never consider themselves less than others as God has blessed them with special abilities.
CM Yadav said that even though Maharishi Ashtavakra was ‘Divyang’, no one could defeat him in scholarly debates and he was a man of great knowledge.
He said that the human body is a reflection of the universe itself and true service to humanity is actually service to God.
“If God gives us weakness, He also gives us a unique strength,” the Chief Minister said while addressing a distribution camp organized for disabled persons at Kalidas Academy campus in Ujjain.
He greeted all the Divyang beneficiaries and personally distributed scooters, special tricycles and walking sticks.
He said that providing motorized wheelchairs and scooters will help the disabled brothers and sisters in their employment and will make their daily activities easier.
Chief Minister Shri Yadav said that assistive devices are being distributed to disabled beneficiaries under Seva Saptah.
“It is not only human service but also a source of spiritual satisfaction,” he said.
The Chief Minister encouraged the disabled citizens to recognize their special strengths, work hard and achieve success in life.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Yadav distributed assistive devices worth Rs 1.25 crore, including electric scooters, hearing aids, walking sticks and wheelchairs, to 146 disabled beneficiaries under a program organized by the Social Research Institute.
He also handed over hearses to six municipal councils – Makedon, Unhel, Nagda, Khachraud, Tarana and Badnagar – for public service.
He handed over the keys to the electric scooter recipients and flagged them off.
