Div Com LED Committee discussed policy for repair, renewal of structures within 200 meter circumference of Dal Lake

To frame a comprehensive policy to address the issue of repairing and renovation of homes and buildings within 200 meters of Lake Lake, a meeting of committee members was held here today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner (DIVCOM) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar; Vice Chairman, LCMA; Vice President, Srinagar Development Authority; Director, Tourism Kashmir; Member Secretary, PCC; Chief Engineer, U.Ed; Chief Town Planner, Kashmir and HOD, University of Environmental Sciences Kashmir University.

The meeting discussed the agenda points and discussed, including the Hon’ble High Court, before imposing a ban by the Hon’ble High Court, involving the criteria/eligibility conditions to legally construct a building.

It also discussed the criteria for permission by Boca LCMA for repair/renovation/reconstruction of legitimately constructed buildings within 200 meters of dal/nigen lakes before banning 19.07.2002.

Members also discussed to determine the criteria made by buildings allowed for repair/renewal/reconstruction to ensure scientific and proper waste disposal.

In addition, the construction process was also discussed by using alternative technologies to adapt to the lake to adapt to the lake and also discuss the criteria for maintaining permanent construction measures and aesthetics and heritage patterns.
