Regarding the completion of the comprehensive sewerage scheme of Greater Srinagar under JNNurm, Divisional Commissioner (DIV com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Monday inspected the site of 60 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) in Nurbagh.
He inspected the operation of the mega project, which is expected to improve drainage for about one third of the city of Srinagar.
Emphasizing the important role of the project in urban hygiene, he instructed the zonal manager of the NBCC to intensify all pending mechanical and electrical functions to ensure that the plant is functional by the end of May.
On the occasion, Div Com also interacted with local residents and continuously heard his concerns about sewer and storm water issues. He assured them that efforts to complete the mega project are being intensified.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was accompanied by Srinagar, Revenue officials and UED departments during the journey.
