Srinagar, June 12: The upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram, Divisional Commissioner (DIVCOM) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhari, presided over the meeting of officials today to ensure trouble and peaceful adherence to religious opportunity and express peace.
In addition, Dig Police Rajiv Pandey, the meeting was attended by Deputy Acade, SSP, officials of the line departments and representatives of various associations of the Shia community.
Addressing the meeting, Divcom directed the officers directed to ensure free routes from pits for mourning to repair and macademization in Shia’s dominated areas.
He also directed civil departments including PHE and KPDCL to ensure delivery of uninterrupted services during the days of Muharram.
He directed the deployment of water tankers to meet the demand for drinking water in the areas settled by the community.
Div com instructed to provide sufficient amount of firewood, and also ensured the distribution of adequate ration to the community.
Bidhuri attached the concerned to start special hygiene drives around Imam Bars and procession sites to ensure cleanliness and mourn.
He asked the Health Department to deploy medical teams along with ambulances to provide proper medical assistance to those who mourn.
To ensure the law and order, Divcom insisted on foolish proof security arrangements and appropriate route plans for the movement of silly vehicles.
Meanwhile, he urged that all the arrangements should be kept well on time to organize all religious ceremonies and processions smoothly and peacefully.
