Bengaluru, Oct 14 (IANS) Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residences, properties and offices of 12 government officials across the state following complaints related to disproportionate assets.
According to initial information, raids were conducted against three officers in Bengaluru, including a woman officer.
G of Mallasandra Maternity Hospital in Bengaluru. The residences of Manjunath, NK Gangamari Gowda, special land acquisition officer of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited and V. Sumangali, an officer attached to the Board of Secondary Education, were searched.
The residence and commercial premises of RTO officer LP Naik were raided in Udupi, while searches are also being conducted in his native Karwar district.
Taking action on charges of disproportionate assets in Chitradurga district, the Lokayukta team raided the residence of Assistant Director of Agriculture Department, Chandra Kumar. The operation was led by Chitradurga Lokayukta SP Vasudevaram, DSP Mrityunjay and PI Manjunath.
Early morning raids were also conducted at two houses of the officer and the Agriculture Department office in Chitradurga. The houses which were searched were located in Taralabalu Nagar and T. Nullenur village in Holalkere taluk.
Lokayukta officials raided four places simultaneously in Bidar on charges of acquiring illegal property. The search also included the residence of Dhulappa, assistant director of the agriculture department, in Aurad taluk.
The raids were conducted at his residence in Guru Nanak Colony in Bidar city, his house in Kadyal village of Bhalki, AD office of Agriculture Department in Aurad and Mudol office in Aurad.
The raids were also conducted at the residence of first division clerk Jyoti Mary in Hassan, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) assistant executive engineer (AEE) Jagdish Naik in Davanagere; Ashok, revenue inspector and village accountant in Ranibennur taluk of Haveri district; Basavesh, CEO in-charge of Savanur taluk panchayat; Junior Engineer Kiran is attached to Almatti Right Bank Canal Office in Bagalkot; and BS Naduvinamani, junior engineer attached to Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (KFCSC).
According to initial information, raids are going on at many places.
