Bengaluru, Nov 25 (IANS) Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Tuesday conducted raids at 10 locations across the state, targeting government officials accused of amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. The raids are being conducted in Mandya, Bidar, Mysuru, Dharwad, Haveri, Bengaluru, Shivamogga and Davangere districts.
According to the Lokayukta, the properties of Assistant Executive Engineer DM Girish attached to the PWD Department, Chief Accounts Officer (Town Planning) Mandya C. Puttaswamy, Chief Engineer (Upper Krishna Project) Bidar Prem Singh, Revenue Inspector (Hootagalli Municipality, Mysore) C. Ramaswamy and Subhash Chandra, Assistant Professor of Karnataka University in Dharwad, have been seized.
The raids are also underway at the properties of Senior Veterinary Examiner Huilagol Sathish, Executive Engineer Office of Project Director Haveri Shekappa, Office Superintendent, Regional Transport Office Electronics City, Bengaluru P. Kumaraswamy, First Class Assistant Sims Medical College Shivamogga CN Lakshmipathy.
Let us tell you that on November 7, Karnataka Lokayukta had raided six RTOs of Bengaluru and exposed irregularities on a large scale. Karnataka Lokayukta conducted surprise raids at six regional transport offices (RTOs) in Bengaluru following several complaints from the public. The raided locations included Yeshwantpur, Rajajinagar, Jayanagar, Yelahanka, Kasturinagar and KR Puram.
Karnataka Lokayukta also conducted raids against 12 officials in the disproportionate assets case and seized Rs 381 crore. On October 14, 2025, searches were conducted at 48 locations, including residences, offices and properties of officials and their relatives.
Preliminary estimates of the searches conducted at 48 locations in the state targeting 12 government officials and their relatives accused of amassing disproportionate assets revealed that the total assets, including land, houses, cash, jewellery, vehicles and other movable and immovable properties, are worth Rs 381.08 crore.
The Karnataka government is cracking down on corruption and the raids are a result of its determination to ensure that the common man does not suffer because of the greed of government officials and that they serve the public without seeking bribes and favours.
