The current agreement between the two companies is set to expire at midnight Thursday, and unless a new deal is reached, subscribers will lose access to college and professional sports, major news shows and binge-watching TV series.

A Disney spokesperson said, “If we do not reach a fair deal soon, YouTube TV subscribers will lose access to ESPN and ABC and all of our major programming – including the NFL, college football, NBC and NHL seasons – and much more.” Told CNBC.
YouTube, which has about 10 million views customersaccused Disney of “offering expensive economic terms” that would raise prices and create fewer choices for customers, “while Disney’s own live products – like Hulu + Live TV and, soon, Fubu” would benefit.
The dispute has prompted Disney to run a public message on YouTube TV warning subscribers that the network will go dark on Friday if the deal is not completed.
Independent YouTube TV’s parent company Disney and Google have been contacted for comment.
YouTube TV has gone through at least five carriage disputes this year, according to forbesSuch conflicts are common and sometimes cause short-term channel disruption.
Distributors, like YouTube TV, hope to make long-term deals with programmers so they know what their costs will be for many years to come. However, YouTube TV has sought smaller deals, programmers say, if they are trying to gain an edge in negotiations as they expand their market.
Still, Disney and other programmers say that their content is what makes YouTube TV valuable to subscribers, and therefore, they should be paid fairly.
“We make significant investments in our content and expect our partners to pay us fair rates that reflect that value,” Disney said in a statement.
This year alone, YouTube TV has feuded with Paramount, Fox, NBCUniversal, Televisivision, and Disney.
While disputes with Paramount, Fox, and NBCUniversal were resolved before the carriage deadline, a dispute with Televisivision resulted in the closure of Spanish-language platform YouTube TV on September 30.

Televisivision argued that it would amount to a “Hispanic tax” and said the proposed change would be unfair to a channel that serves a rapidly growing audience.
President Donald Trump also urged YouTube TV to reinstate Televisivision, which has been off the platform for a month. magazine,

“It’s been removed from their package, which is very bad for Republicans in the upcoming midterms.”
YouTube TV, which offers a base plan at $82.99 per month, is one of the most popular alternatives to cable and currently has about 10 million subscribers — though that number is likely to grow.
