Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS and CA) Jammu Rifat Kohli today chaired a meeting with departmental officials and representatives of Mutton Sellers Association and Poultry Association of Jammu, which to review the status of essential commodities-especially to review the Mutton and Poultry Products to review the status of essential commodities.
The meeting held at the Director’s Office Chamber was attended by Assistant Directors of Joint Director (Administration), Deputy Director (Supply), Jammu City and Rural Circle along with chief representatives of both unions.
During the meeting, the director insisted on ensuring that a sufficient stock of livestock (sheep and goats) is available to meet public demand during the festival. He instructed the stakeholders to ensure that sacrifices sheep and goats are easily available at reasonable rates in the mandis specified in the Jammu Division.
Rifat Kohli further directed representatives of mutton and poultry associations to prominently display the official rate list at all retail shops. He directed the departmental officials to conduct strict market inspections to implement approved pricing and take strict action against the defaulters.
