Did domestic cats origin in Tunisia? New study highlights light

The origins of domestic cats have been a major theme among researchers. His emergence has been associated with the Neolithic period, where he was with farmers spreading throughout Europe with agricultural adaptation. However, further investigation has been done, in which importance surprised archaeologists. Recently, two large -scale testing was conducted by Rome Tor Vergata and 42 institutes University, and one more by Exeter University and contributors of 37 institutes, stating that Tunisia may be the place of domestic cat.

Expert team of researchers at the University of Rome Tor Vergata conducted a pelio-geographical analysis, where they analyzed samples of cats from 97 archaeological sites throughout Europe and Anatolia. Similarly, he also took samples from North Africa, Bulgaria and Italy.

Although two studies provide different understanding, the results suggest that cats appeared in Europe after leaving North Africa as a result of cultural practices, religious reverence and business networks.
