Dhaka jet accident at least 20 dead, 171 injured

The Daily Star reported that at least 20 people were killed and 171 more injured after training Bangladesh’s Air Force.

According to the report, Bangladesh Air Force F -7 fighter jet crashed in the first afternoon in Dhaka in a milestone school and college campus. Jet was being operated by the Bangladeshi Air Force flight Lieutenant Mohammad Tauqir Islam Sagar, who was also killed in an accident.

Muhammad Yunus also expressed his deep grief over the incident, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh.

In his condolence message on X, Younus described the incident as “irreparable” disadvantages to the Bangladesh Air Force, as well as others.

“I express my deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident of casualties caused by accidents of Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BJI training aircraft in the Diaber region of the capital and Bangladesh’s Air Force F-7 BJI training aircraft. The nation,” Yuns said in the post.

The Chief Advisor prayed for early recovery of those injured in the accident.

Emergency response teams were on the site for search and rescue operations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep shock and grief over the loss of life in the training jet accident in Dhaka.
