DGP presented a certificate of excellence to Akhanur police station, declared the best in J&K by MHA

In a moment of great pride for the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Police Station Akhnoor has been postponed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (MHA), Government of India, the best police station in Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2024.

To celebrate this remarkable achievement, Director General of Police, J&K, SH. Nalin Prabhat, IPS, visited the police station Akhanur and presented an excellence certificate to the dedicated team. He was accompanied by IGP Jammu Zone, Sh. BS Tuti, IPS; IGP CRPF Jammu, Sh. Of Gopala. Rao, IPS; Dig JSK Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS; DC Jammu, SH. Sachin Vaishiya, IAS; And SSP Jammu, SH. Joginder Singh, JKPS.

MLA Akhanur, Mohan Lal Bhagat also saw the occasion as a special guest. The program saw the presence of Army, BSF, CRPF, intelligence agencies, senior officers of civil administration, along with zonal SPS of Jammu, all SDPOs of District Jammu and Shos in rural areas.

This prestigious belief is part of a nationwide initiative by MHA’s Police Modernization Division, supported by the Transactional Research Agency. Out of a total of 17,932 police stations across India, 76 were shortlisted based on strict performance criteria, and police station Akhanur secured a place among the top performing stations in the country.

The initiative to recognize the best police stations was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the DGP/IGP Conference held in Kach, Gujarat in 2015. Since then, it has become a regular feature of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which aims to promote excellence, innovation and civil-friendly policing across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, DGP Nalin Prabhat congratulated the Jammu Police Team for this important achievement and encouraged all officers and personnel to continue efforts for excellence in public service. While presenting the award, the DGP particularly appreciated the extraordinary performance of the then show, Inspector Tariq Ahmed; SDPO Mohan Sharma, JKPS; SP Rural Sh. Brijesh Sharma, JKPS, and SSP Jammu, SH. Joginder Singh, JKPS, for his leadership and dedication during 2024. He greeted the SHO to present his best wishes, Sanjeev Chib and SDPO Varinder Gupta, Inspector Sanjeev Chib and SDPO Varinder Gupta to carry forward the legacy of excellence to JKPS.

IGP Jammu Zone, BS Tuti, IPS also congratulated the team of Police Station Akhanur and urged them to maintain high standards as professionalism, commitment and public service in ahead.

The recognition is under the leadership of SP Rural Jammu and under the overall guidance of SSP Jammu, as a will for hard work, discipline and community-centric policing displayed by police station Akhanur officers and employees.
