DFCO 8 cancels the sales license of pharmacies, suspends 75 retail sales installations

In an important step to ensure public safety and curb the misuse of drug medicines, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has launched a special enforcement campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, targeting pharmacies and drug outlets to comply with legal and regulatory standards.

During the drive, Drug and Food Control Organization (DFCO) officials conducted surprise inspections at various places in the districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative aims to identify pharmacies working in violations of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and strengthen the mechanisms preventing unauthorized sales of psychotropic substances and prescriptions.

Relevant, inspection teams canceled drugs cell licenses of eight pharmacies for non-correction of drugs and did not adopt the computerized system of billing for maintenance of sales records. These included M/s aater enterprises gunjiawara anantnag, M/s al-mehdi misecate, M/s shhhjar pharmacy budgam, M/s mecthity pharmacy, chadoora, m/s new bhat messiate Chadora, M/S Dar Messit Budara, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam, Budgam Saini Medical Hall, Hari Chak, Marhane.

In addition, the operation of seventy -seventy -five retail sales installations was left on the spot under Section 22 (D) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 sales records, copy and inappropriate storage conditions on the spot for non -alignment of conditions. These included 9 each in Jammu, Rajouri and Anantnag; 6 each in Kupwara and Budgam districts; 5 each in Udampur and Kulgam; 4 In Pulwama, 3 in each in Kathua, Samban, Rummon, Doda, Baramulla and Shopian districts; 2 in Poonch district, 1 each in Kathua, Ramban, Rasi, Install, Srinagar and Genderbal.

Similarly, the samples of statutory drug of more than 500 yogas of different categories were removed randomly for determining strength and purity. These samples were sent to drug testing laboratories located within J&K for legal opinion to detect their quality parameters.

In addition, stocks of drugs of Rs 8,40,348 have been found violating the provisions of the D&C Act, also seized from the supply chain by regulatory officers of the organization under Section 23 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Lotika Khajuria, State Drugs Controller, Jammu and Kashmir have once again affected the trade fraternity to follow the terms of the license in letters and spirit.
