Devotees depart from Nunwan Base Camp for Amarnath Yatra

A large number of devotees departed from the Nanwan Base Camp on Saturday to start their spiritual journey towards Shri Amarnathji’s holy cave located in the Himalayas, which was snowfall of Jammu and Kashmir.

As the journey moved smoothly under tight safety and better facilities, pilgrims expressed their joy and confidence.

While talking to ANI, one of the pilgrims, Rajesh Giri said, “I am barefoot. I have been barefoot for the last 40 years since last 40 years … I am going to Mr. Amarnath ji for the 25th time. I will go on foot. I will pray that our India will continue to progress … The system is very good …”

Amarnath Yatra, a major annual pilgrimage in Hinduism, both attracted both experienced and Yatris for the first time.

Sri Krishna Yadav, who first joined the journey for the first time, told Annie, “We are a group of six people. This is the first time I have come for the yatra. My heart is very happy and I am very excited to see Baba. I am not tired at all … arrangements are very good.”

Talking to Annie, another pilgrim, Preity Rathor, shared her excitement, saying, “We are very excited for darshan. I will pray that everyone’s pilgrimage is successful. The arrangements are better than before … There is nothing to be afraid of it … I will pray that everyone is happy and healthy …”

A day earlier, Shri Amarnath Yatra returned to Jammu and Kashmir (JK) Udampur after the first batch of pilgrims went to the holy cave.

Meanwhile, security arrangements in JK including Udhampur have been strengthened, as the annual pilgrimage moves through the Baltal and Pahgam routes.

The annual pilgrimage, which began on Thursday, is being organized through Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar highway is an important route for thousands of pilgrims visiting the holy site.

In Doda, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified the security system with repeating their commitment to ensure the safety of pilgrims and to eliminate any terrorist threats. (AI)
