Russia Started a wave of attacks on the capital of Ukraine Kyiv Early Tuesday, residential buildings and energy infrastructure were attacked, according to video footage and local officials.
Mayor Vitaly Kitschko said a residential building in the central Pechersk district and another building in Kiev’s eastern district of Dniprovsky were badly damaged.
Video footage posted Telegram A massive fire was seen spreading across several floors of a nine-storey building in Dniprovsky. Timor Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city administration, said at least four people were injured.
Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said energy infrastructure had been damaged, without specifying the type or extent of the damage.
The Russian attack followed talks in Geneva on Sunday between representatives of the US and Ukraine about a US-Russia brokered peace plan.
Oleksandr Bevz, a representative of the Ukrainian side, told The Associated Press on Monday that the talks had been “very constructive” and that the two sides were able to discuss most points.
Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskovsaid Monday that it had not seen the updated plan.
