Kristi Noem He encountered an exiled veteran who insisted that no former We Military personnel were removed from the country under trump administration,
During a House hearing on Thursday (Dec. 11), Representative Seth Magaziner questioned the Homeland Security secretary on the deportation of combat veteran Sae Joon Park, who appeared at the hearing via video call.
Mr. Magaziner said Mr. Park struggled with PTSD and substance abuse and was arrested for “minor drug offenses” in the 1990s. Mr. Park told NPR that he self-deported and returned to South Korea after a meeting with ICE officials in June, in which he was warned that he would be detained and deported if he did not leave voluntarily.
When Mr. Magazine asked Noem to “thank Mr. Park for his service to our country,” she said she would “definitely” look into the veteran’s case.
