On Sunday, December 14, people of Delhi NCR woke up to a thick layer of smog in the region as the air quality index remained in the “severe” category. Meanwhile, GRAP Phase-IV has been implemented in the national capital as authorities struggle to bring down the pollution crisis.
According to Central Pollution Control Board data, Delhi’s AQI at 6 am was recorded at 462, which is in the “severe” category.
All 40 air quality monitoring stations were ‘red’ as dense smog and toxic air engulfed the national capital. Visibility was affected due to pollution.
According to News18, Rohini in northwest Delhi recorded an AQI of 499, the highest in the capital, followed by Jahangirpuri and Vivek Vihar at 495.
