The footage shows that a delta flight attendant slammed a Southwest Airlines A public spat after a gate agent called her a “ghetto” in front of queues of customers has gone viral.
In the video posted on InstagramThe uniformed male flight attendant can be heard saying, “This is ridiculous. This is the worst airport, and you all make Southwest look terrible” as he apparently takes a dig at the rival gate agent over their customer service.
There was a heated exchange at Atlanta International Airport Last week. It starts immediately after the Delta flight attendants land. It is unclear what led to the dispute.
Shared on the @thecrewroom_ account, the Delta attendant can initially be seen walking past the Southwest agent before she begins to quarrel with him and criticize his behavior in an altercation over his behavior with passengers.
“It’s ridiculous, it’s ghetto, and it’s because it’s Atlanta, y’all have no respect for customer service,” he says. “You all need to clear this up, because I’m just taking a flight and I don’t want to take Southwest, I can take Delta.”
She can be heard asking him to “lower his voice”, but he appears to have become even more irritated. “Get your hands off my face,” he says.
“You’re something. You’re nothing. Where’s your name tag? You’re ghetto.”
He further said that he was told “not to come” to Atlanta and “not to move here” because the people were “ridiculously ghetto”, adding: “This is supposed to be black Mecca and y’all can’t even keep yourselves with class and respect”.
Commentators were divided on who to support. Some said they “100 percent agree” with the Delta attendant, but others warned that he was also acting unprofessionally.
“I agree with him 100%,” one wrote. “Stop acting like you’re in the ghetto.”
“I was looking for lies the whole time,” said another.
But others criticized him for arguing publicly with flight agents. “‘I don’t do things like this…’ and yet he goes on to cause this unnecessary confrontation, publicly disrupting the peace and quiet of passengers and staff,” one wrote.
“All this was not necessary!” another commented. “Why isn’t he on the Delta flight?”
A Delta spokesperson said, “We are investigating the authenticity of this video. If it is confirmed, we will address the matter internally. Civil conduct is expected at all times from those representing our brands.”
