A brand of delicious milk chocolate bars has been urgently recalled due to an unlisted allergen.
America Food and Drug Administration Consumers are being warned that 112 units of Frances Pure Bar Almondmilk Chocolate 46% Madagascar Plant-Based Milk Chocolate Bar may contain hazelnuts that were not listed on the label.
The plant-based sweets were made by Fran’s Chocolates Ltd. in Seattle and sold in 1.1 ounce packages at four stores in the area. It was sold online between 9 October and 15 December.
The FDA announced the recall on December 20, saying that one customer had already reported having an allergic reaction to the chocolate. No other illnesses or deaths have been noted. Fran did not return immediately The Independent’s Request for comment.
Health officials said the almond milk chocolate ingredient was tested for small amounts of hazelnuts and tested positive, leading manufacturers to believe it was processed on the same equipment as other products.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to hazelnuts are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the recall announcement said. According to its label, the chocolate bar already contained traces of milk, peanuts and sesame.
Customers who have ingested the chocolate are urged not to consume the product and contact the company. Bars can be returned to the store for a full refund.

Chocolate bars aren’t the only sweet that is being missed this festive season. Holiday bark sold at Aldi Two flavors of the sweet have also been recalled due to the presence of undeclared allergens.
Silvestri Sweets Inc. issued a voluntary recall that was expanded on December 23 after a packaging mixup with Chaussure-branded Holiday Bark replaced bags of Cookie Butter Holiday Bark and bags of Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon Holiday Bark.
This means that Cookie Butter flavor may contain undeclared pecans, while Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon flavors may contain undeclared wheat.
Aldi also recently Missed Your Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets And urged customers not to eat them due to the potential risk of allergies. The affected batch, which has a use by date of December 15 and barcode 4069365328743, contained egg without the ingredient mentioned on the label.
