New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Massive protests broke out at Delhi’s Rajendra Place metro station following the suicide of a 16-year-old Class 10 student, who left a note accusing his teacher of harassment and urging action.

The boy, who had left home for school on November 18 while his father was away, was later found dead at the station.

Police recovered her school bag, which had a note inside claiming that she had to take the step due to alleged abuse at school.

The news of his death sparked widespread anger and parents and students gathered outside the school demanding accountability and strict action against those named in the allegations.

Police have said that they are examining the contents of the suicide note as well as the claims mentioned in the FIR and the investigation is ongoing.

Parents who reached the school said that some teachers regularly “misbehave” with students, creating an atmosphere of fear.

A parent told IANS, “My child has also been studying in the same school for the last two years. The students here are afraid of talking to their teachers. When my child comes home, and I sometimes ask him why he is afraid, he says that he is afraid to even tell me these things, because he feels that I will also scold him like the teachers. There is a lot of fear among the children because of some teachers here and because of fear they are not able to say anything.” Are.”

A friend of the deceased student said he last spoke to her on November 16 and that she had repeatedly shared concerns about harassment by a drama club teacher, which had left him deeply depressed.

He said, “He told me that he was humiliated a lot and once, when he cried during drama practice, the teacher told him that he should not cry because he is a boy and only girls cry. The teacher is very discouraging. He was very stressed.”

According to the FIR lodged by his father, the student was “under severe mental stress” due to continuous harassment by teachers.

The father alleged that his son had repeatedly complained about some teachers who “scolded, humiliated and mentally tortured him over small things”.

The FIR states that despite multiple verbal complaints to school authorities, the alleged behavior continued. The family described the boy’s final weeks as a time of increasing distress and said their appeals to teachers and the principal went unanswered.
