Forecasts from the Centre’s Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) indicate that Delhi’s AQI will remain in the ‘very poor’ category till October 25, after which it may fluctuate between ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ for the next six days.
An analysis by the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) identified October 20 and 21 as the city’s worst PM2.5 pollution days in 2025 after January.
GRAP classifies air quality into four stages:
- Stage I (poor) with AQI between 201 and 300
- Stage II (very bad) between 301 and 400
- Stage III (severe) between 401 and 450
- Stage IV (Severe Plus) for AQI above 450.
