New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) Delhi Cabinet Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh along with NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra attended the inauguration of three “Ayushman Arogya Mandirs” at Bapu Dham, Netaji Nagar and Golf Links on Tuesday. An officer gave this information.
After inaugurating the “Ayushman Arogya Mandir”, Pravesh Sahib Singh inspected the entire complex and interacted with all the medical staff, the official said in a statement.
He informed that under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative, two “Ayushman Arogya Mandirs”, one at Golf Links and the other two at Netaji Nagar and Bapu Dham Dispensary, are being dedicated to the citizens of New Delhi area to provide better healthcare system to the public.
After inaugurating the Ayushman Arogya Mandir Dispensary at Golf Links, the Minister said that as part of the new initiative of the Delhi Government, Ayushman Arogya Mandir is being opened at several places across Delhi to provide better healthcare services to the public.
He said that while the previous dispensaries lacked lab testing facilities, the Ayushman Arogya Kendra, which opened on Tuesday, will now provide lab facilities as well.
He said an additional Rs 25 lakh would be allocated annually to dispensaries to enhance delivery of health services.
He also said that expensive medicines purchased from outside will now be available free of cost here, which will reduce the burden on the public’s pockets.
Pravesh Sahib Singh said that the objective of setting up health services like Ayushman Arogya Mandir is to provide simplicity, accessibility and quality health care to the people.
“If these centers provide better health services from the beginning, people will not need to go to expensive hospitals,” he said.
On the occasion, NDMC chief Keshav Chandra said that under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative, NDMC rebranded and opened 12 dispensaries as Ayushman Arogya Mandir in its area.
The Medical Services Department of NDMC provides comprehensive health care to all residents of its area, and also provides a number of services to people not living within it.
Addressing the gathering, NDMC member Anil Valmiki said that all types of medical systems like allopathy, homeopathy and Ayurvedic will be provided along with testing, vaccination and medical facilities in the three new temples.
He said that our aim is to work for the welfare of the people, not to advertise.
NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh, after inaugurating the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Netaji Nagar, said the initiative is a derivative of the Prime Minister’s vision of Ayushman Bharat to provide holistic healthcare to all citizens of India.
He said, in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, NDMC Medical Services creates and maintains an optimum level of health care facility providing early diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and preventive measures (vaccination).
An official said the NDMC provides health services through its Charak Palika Hospital (154 beds), Palika Maternity Hospital (65 beds), two polyclinics (dental unit and chest clinic) and 13 dispensaries (allopathic and AYUSH, including one Unani dispensary).
