New Delhi, 2 October (IANS) Vijaya Dashami’s festival was celebrated with grandeur at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in the capital on Thursday through ‘Vishwashanti Mahayagna’.
According to the Vedic tradition, this yajna aims to promote global peace and harmony. Thousands of devotees attended the ceremonies with devotion and enthusiasm.
Mahayagana started with sunrise at 6 am and continued till 9 am, when the lord of Akhdanham chanting the holy Vedic mantras, which calls for a wave of divine spiritual energy.
A total of 108 Yagna Kunds (sacrifices) were prepared for the ritual.
Pujya Munivatsalas Swami, Swami, the administrative in -charge of the Akhadham Temple in Delhi addressed the gathering.
He said, “With the divine inspiration and guidance of Mahant Swami Maharaj, this yajna was held for peace and harmony in the world. Special prayers were performed for every family to stay deep, strong and deep in spiritual values,” he said.
A large number of youth also participated in the yagna.
A devotee, Twinkle, shared: “On this auspicious occasion of Vishwashanti Mahayagna, devotees were immersed in devotion and spiritual bliss. He prayed not only for himself but also for global peace, harmony and love, while reflecting the true meaning of Vijayadashami.”
The essence of the Yajna was linked in the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita’s teaching of the “obtaining supreme welfare through mutual nutrition”.
Swami and volunteers also resolved to remove negativity, ego and hatred from their lives. The entire atmosphere of Akshardham was accused of powerful spiritual energy, causing a deep sense of happiness and satisfaction.
