Delhi CM Yamuna reviews the Chhath Puja system with banks

New Delhi, October 4 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Chhath Puja on Yamuna banks on Saturday, promising a memorable experience for devotees this year.

“Chhath is not just a festival, it is a symbol of our respect for women and our respect for nature. The Delhi government is committed to celebrate it with full dignity and grandeur,” he said.

He inspected the Yamuna Ghat in a boat from Palla to Eto to review the arrangements. Starting from Palla, he reviewed the preparations at Shyam Ghat, Geeta Colony, Sonia Vihar, Boat Club and Hatha Ghat.

CM Gupta said that for years, the priest residents of Delhi are waiting for proper arrangements with Yamuna to celebrate this important festival.

He said, “The previous governments and the administration neither paid attention nor made any concerted efforts.

The Chief Minister said that this year, with the efforts of the government, Chhath will be organized in a way that is “more secure and more convenient than ever.”

He also assured that hundreds of ghats are being prepared in Delhi so that devotees can easily celebrate the festival.

During his inspection, the Chief Minister was with Cabinet Ministers Pravesh Verma and Kapil Mishra, MLA Abhay Verma and senior officials.

At Hatha Ghat, women devotees welcomed her with traditional Chhath songs and rituals.

The Chief Minister announced that the ghats will be constructed in settlements from Palla to Okhla with Yamuna, so that people can worship close to the house.

He said that the government is also preparing hundreds of ghats within the city.

Calling Chhath a festival of “nature, purity and culture”, CM Gupta said, “Chhath is not only about devotion; it also gives a message to keep our water sources clean and alive. Every system of security, cleanliness, light and traffic will be carefully handled so that devotees do not have any inconvenience.”

The Chief Minister also announced that this year, the event would not be limited to the construction of the ghat.

“Cultural programs will also be included to celebrate the festival with devotion, culture and collective enthusiasm,” he said.

He further said that all Delhi government ministers, MLAs and concerned officials are working with full dedication and the ghats are being read.

Minister Pravesh Verma said that this year, Delhi will be a memorable and well -organized Chhath witness to Puja.

The banks of the Yamuna are being developed very carefully so that the devotees have access to clean, safe and well -organized ghats.

Development Minister, Arts and Culture Kapil Mishra said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Gupta, the Delhi government is committed to celebrate this year’s Chhath with devotion and grand system.
