New Delhi, 22 September (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday laid the foundation stone of three-level, multipurpose DTC bus depot in Hari Nagar, tried to revive public transporters with a loss of Rs 65,000 crore and double the e-bus fleet from 3,000 to 6,000 by next year.
Speaking at the ceremony, CM Gupta said that the Delhi government is committed to bringing revolution in the transport sector in the city – which includes the metro and public transport bus.
“Very soon, a new EV policy of our government will also be unveiled,” he said, DTC E-Bose is committed to increase the number of DTC E-Bose from 3,000 to 6,000 to connect the government so that the issue of air pollution can also be addressed.
Referring to the upcoming facility in Hari Nagar, he said that the state -of -the -art center will have facilities for parking and charging more than 400 electric buses. In addition, all necessary facilities such as cleaning, office, dormitory, commercial campus and mall will be provided for employees and officers.
“While the first depot could park only 250 buses, now its capacity would be doubled. It would take about 40 minutes to charge each bus, and there would be about 84 charging stations,” he said.
CM Gupta said, “Under” Seva Pakhwada “, this gift to Delhi will give a new direction to the transport system of the capital. Equipped with new technology, this self -sufficient building will bear its expenses, so there will be no additional burden on the government.”

The CM assured such redevelopment of the bus depot, establishing charging stations in the city and revival of inter-state bus terminals to promote revenue production.
Reiterating the BJP government’s commitment to revive the debt-affected Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), he said, “The previous governments never cared about the financial health of the corporation. There was a loss as a result of the lack of corruption and the intention of corruption.
Calling DTC to Delhi’s lifeline, CM Gupta also hit the DTC’s financial crises led by Arvind Kejriwal in the previous AAP government and hit the public transport utility to a loss of about Rs 65,000 crore – which is as Delhi’s annual budget.
The Chief Minister pointed to the use of solar energy production and the use of green technology for its manufacture. The commercial complex within this will generate revenue, allowing the entire complex economically self -sufficient.
“I want to request the authorities that the new depot should be prepared by the next Navratis, about 12 months away from now,” he said.
Promising DTC Employees Welfare and air -conditioned offices, CM Gupta said that it has proposed that there should be housing units for the employees of the corporation in the residential colony being developed at Shadipur bus depot.
