New Delhi, 29 September (IANS) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has formed an expert committee to oversee the selection of the official logo of Delhi which reflects the unique identity, rich history, culture, development and aspirations of its people, an official said on Monday.
This is the first time the government is creating an official logo for the National Capital Region, he said.
“Work on this project is already going on, and CM Gupta has formed an expert committee to oversee the selection of the official logo of Delhi,” the official said.
The Chief Minister said that the government has made special provisions for the design and selection of the people.
He said that a logo design competition was organized at MyGov Portal (MyGov.in), with the deadline of the prescribed presentations as September 26. A total of 1,800 entries/designs were received from across the country, he said.
According to the Chief Minister, an expert committee, which will evaluate entries under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the General Administration Department and shortlist the final design.
The committee consists of experts from various universities, and Joint Secretary, Department of General Administration will serve as Member Secretary.
The Chief Minister said that people will serve as a new symbol of Delhi’s unique identity. The government wants it to reflect the modern, transparent and people of the city.
He said that the objective of this initiative is to place Delhi as a strong, recognizable brand that represents democratic values, technological advancement and civil participation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Delhi government’s efforts to build houses for the slums of the slums, improve hospitals, introduce e-bass and clean the Yamuna.
After coming to power after a gap of 27 years, the efforts of the Delhi BJP government to meet the expectations of the people were highlighted, he said that the dream of “Vikasat India, Vikasit Delhi” can be achieved only when the government and the party move together.
Delhi BJP workers also asked the BJP leaders of the city to celebrate all the festivals to ensure that every citizen gets the benefit of GST cut to ensure that the city flourishes as ‘mini-India’ and reflects cultural diversity.
“It is very important for unity that patriotism is fuel from the celebration of festivals of all states in Delhi,” he said.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the new building of Delhi BJP.
