New Delhi, Nov 10 (IANS) In a shocking incident, a car exploded near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, creating a panic-like situation.
According to Delhi Fire Department, some explosion-like sounds were heard, after which they received information.
Due to this explosion, three other vehicles also caught fire.
The fire department said that they had received information about a car explosion. In the initial investigation, Delhi Police has said that after the explosion in the parked car, now other senior officers have also reached the spot.
The areas near the Red Fort in Old Delhi are among the most congested areas in the national capital.
Although information about the damage caused by the incident is not yet available, but till now seven fire engines have been sent to the spot.
Many reports and social media so far are pointing towards a terrorist aspect; There has been no official confirmation on this.
According to a report by NDTV, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has reached the area and has cordoned off the blast site.
Reportedly, some ambulances have also been sent to the spot as several people have been injured due to the blast.
